RESCUE OF THE MONTH

High Sierra Animal Rescue

ABOUT

High Sierra Animal Rescue is a 501c3 no-kill rescue that opened in May of 1999. With 17 rescue kennels and 21 boarding kennels, they have placed over 4,500 animals into loving, permanent homes. Everyone associated with the facility is an animal lover and experienced animal professional or trained volunteer. Animals that are taken into their care receive love and attention from their trained personnel, medical help as required based on their previous environment or living conditions, behavioral assessment, socialization and obedience skills if needed, and a safe temporary home.

$5 from each Metal Rescue sold this month goes to support High Sierra Animal Rescue.

“A handful of incredible people saw a need for a safe place for dogs to stay while they awaited their loving, forever homes. For twenty two years we have been dedicated to saving the lives of homeless dogs that can no longer be held at the county shelters. Our nonprofit organization is focused on providing health, quality of life, and emotional stability for animals in Northern California and Northern Nevada. HSAR rescues 150-200 dogs a year and while it may take some dogs longer to find the right homes, they are never at risk of running out of time or chances. We often take in dogs who are in need of medical attention and we make sure that they receive the care and surgery they require in order to live a happy and healthy life. We often transfer pregnant mothers and puppies to our facility from local shelters to ensure that they are able to have a quiet, peaceful place to relax and grow up.

It is an honor to provide these dogs with the care and love they need in order to be the best family dogs they can be. We are so thankful for the support of our community and for the people who choose to adopt these wonderful animals.”
